retrospect

2012 has been a pretty alright year. I want to be nostalgic and sappy but i seem to have lost any ability to feel that way towards smth as unreciprocal as a year.
Anyway I'm thankful for the really life changing things that happened to me this year and I am lucky. So very lucky. And I thank God for the year, highs and lows I have felt His comforting hand.
It seems to me like I've gotten over my hemaphobia, which is the phobia of blood I think I can't be sure but I haven't felt the queasy shiver when my mind wavers upon an insignificant flash of ahem blood SO THAT'S A GOOD SIGN
Also, this year marks the end of an era GOODBYE FLAWLESS FACE but maybe this is an exception its alr clearing up whee
Also, one year older, but still as goofy LOL I like being on 'stealth mode' in public areas cuz im a 'thief in the night' HELLS YES. Pros and Cons of being kristie or related to Kristie- subject to embarrassment BUT CMON GUYS EMBRACE THE LOSER WITHIN YOU

The final page episode of himym just really really depressed me. One hand I was happy for Robin on the other I felt really really bad for Ted. Maybe over time his 'feelings' for Robin have become vague and fuzzy and tangled and his mind manipulates his heart and he doesn't love Robin the way he thinks he does. He loves Robin, so much. But not in the way Marshall loves Lily or the way Barney loves Robin. It's a different kind of love and maybe by the end of the night he realises it and tells Robin to get Barney. And yet its still so sad how he willingly deprives himself at a shot of happiness. But can he truly be happy? Because Ted and Robin simply cannot work out and they both know it and I think their friendship is truly brilliant. Step 16 hope she says yes, it made me happy and sad at the same time kinda had a revelation. I wonder I really wonder. And maybe i'll know one day, maybe I won't maybe it just lingers in your mind the unfathomable depths maybe you had a reference and I could always wonder and forever I will cuz everyone has an inner Ted Mosby and that Ted Mosby will always put the happiness of a Robin Scherbatsky before him and that Robin Scherbatsky will always and forever love a Barney Stinson who will ultimately love her back and by step 16 he hopes she says yes when he proposes. And she will, say yes.

But what can a Ted Mosby do anyway but feel happy for the Robin Scherbatsky in his life?

It doesn't feel like Christmas hells to the no :( I'm missing so many ppl right now and I need a job. When you're still waiting for the snow to fall/ it doesn't really feel like Christmas at all

C. K. S. Memorial Hall:
Pretty much the same as last year, except that the 89 steps were under renovation so we took the elevator instead HAHA saw a super cute girl called Abby and she's only a year plus awwww <3

Ate beef noodles and mango ice shavings GOSH GETTING FAT

ferris wheel:
Went to Miramar and took the ferris wheel WHEE I SAW THE SONGYUAN AIRPORT HAHA

Went back for dinz then shopping flying off today :D

Went to Chengpin Shuju in the morning and got Lord of the Flies went there last year, ah nostalgic found multiple versions of Cloud Atlas and Life of Pi in Chinese LOL very amusing

Din Tai Fung:
Had lunch there and its surprisingly cheaper than Singapore's plus it tastes better too mmm good food. The wait for a table was like an hour though.

Ximending:
Walked to places I didn't go to last year and there was a live band performing, pretty cool. Retraced my steps and went to the places I went to last year courtesy of Google Maps HAHA and bought a shirt for sistaa. There were so many smokers I almost puked cuz the air was so polluted omg. Walked around quite long so decided to head back to hotel. Had dinner at Royal Host (steak was bloody good, literally) went to the bookstore opposite and got Christmas packagings and to the shop beside my hotel and got snazzy writing papers and stickers for my Christmas cards and letters LOOKS LIKE I'M ALL SET

Ran out of long sleeves BUT WHAT IS COLD TO A REAL MAN(woman)

It was raining the whole day so we kinda stayed indoors. So went to National Treasure Museum today in the morning which I went last year alr IT WAS SO BORING GOSH and so crowded with um a certain nationality of tourists with no basic courtesy or etiquette -__- took a cab to the Miniature Museum but had lunch at Mr Brown nearby its kinda like Starbucks haha and its 3 freaking levels omg.

Miniature Museum:
MY DAMPENED CRESTFALLEN SOUL LITERALLY LIGHTED UP AFTER VISITING THE PLACE its amazing they have scaled down versions of streets/houses and even the finest details like champagne glasses or light fixtures are so intricate omg. Yknow if I showed you a picture I took of the rooms, you might think its a real room CUZ IT'S SO REALISTIC except that the whole room is the size of my chem textbook I kid you not. There were scaled down versions of fairy tales like Snow White and Alice in Wonderland and it felt very whimsical/magical the houses especially I WANT SO BADLY TO SHRINK AND ENTER THE ROOMS ABS LIVE IN THERE. There was a version of the Buckingham Palace DAMN IT WAS SO GRAND BOTH THE EXTERIOR AND THE INTERIOR there were Singaporeans in there too HAHAHA the gift shops were really cute they sold miniature versions of everything aww.

HELLO KITTY SWEETS CAFE:
OMG BEST PART EVER AHHHH I WAS IN HELLO KITTY PARADISE OMG everythi was hello kitty themed I took A LOT OF PICTURES and the desserts were pretty yummy and I had such a lovely time there even the furniture was hello kitty ish albeit too pink/girly for my liking though but aw mann I would work there if I was Taiwanese.

Nangang Station/ Jimmy Liao Mural:
WHY tell me why WHY AREN'T SINGAPOREAN MRT STATIONS AS ADORABLE AS THIS ONE there were murals everywhere, one of the train at, where else, the platform and one staircase beside, a staircase DUH wah mum went fangirl mode haha

Took a train all the way back to Taiwan and am back here. In my room of course. Darn 8 days in Taiwan isn't enough but mann I miss home too.

day 4

Woke up super early and took like 2 trains to shifen. Went to ruifang first and there were quite a few Singaporens at the platform. Weather was brill. Shifen looked exactly the same as last year quaint and whimsical went to set the sky lanterns on the railway tracks which had trains passing through occasionally THERE WERE SO MANY DOGS AND CATS HAHA ate at some shop there the portion of beef noodles were huge omg. Walked or rather hiked to the shifen waterfall THE SCENERY WAS BREATHTAKING SERIOUSLY so beautiful.. but guess what we couldn't go near the waterfall -__- took a train to jingtong and ate some pork roll thingy so many Singaporeans LOL walked on the railway tracks #YOLO took a train all the way back to Taipei which was ages. Bought bento and milk tea back for dinner ONE BENTO IS 2$ SING OMG then went to uniqlo to shop and some high end departmental store which was having some sale BUT STILL EX so we didn't get anyth :p came back pretty late so that's day 4 for you. Pretty cool.

Mrt:
Took a train to the Taipei Zoo and the trains are pretty much like the ones back at home except maybe wider/longer. One interesting thing was that the waiting area to board the mrt was drawn out and passengers had to wait within the lines haha

Taipei Zoo:
Okaye firstly the zoo didn't feel like one it felt like a theme park except w/o rides IT WAS HUGE I'M TELLING YOU not like the one in sg, so tiny. I went to see Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan the 2 pandas OH MY GOSH they looked so adorbz but mostly silly too HAHA went around looking at the other animals, most of which sg has too. But the sad thing was animals such as wolves, leopards, they were all alone in their enclosure.. no companions for them :( so sad. I felt kinda sad looking at the animals in their 'cages'. Ate macs which tasted pretty much the same as the ones in sg then took a train to.......

Taipei 101:
THIS PLACE IS LIKE DA KOOLEST I KID YOU NOT. The first few storeys were shops, and by shops I mean high class branded shops like Prada etc which were frequented by Mainland tourists, of course. Went all the way to the 89th storey in a lift and it took less than a minute #KOOLFACTOR1.0 from afar the windows were all white but once you went closer to the glass you could see Taipei at the bottom I COULD SEE THE TAOYUAN AIRPORT esp with the binoculars... Wow I felt so big for once #KOOLFACTOR2.0 I saw the huge damper in the middle of the building which apparently prevents it from swaying to up till 40% made entirely out of silver I think what baffles me is how they installed it there hmm #KOOLFACTOR3.0 next, this is the koolest part, literally, WE WENT TO THE OUTDOOR OBSERVATORY ON THE 91st storey and boy, I swear I could feel moisture in the air. Had a YOLO moment when I half crossed a barrier that said 'caution strong winds, do not cross' WADDUP

Shilin Night Market:
Took a mrt to the night market and went underground to have dinner FINALLY TASTED LOCAL FARE that beef...... Oh mann. Unforgettable. Bought the 鸡pa thingy (omg I suck idk which pa it is omg I'm a disgrace to my parents omg) DAMN BIG LIKE THE SIZE OF 3 PALMS and a half (my palms that is) went to window shop and got hipster socks for RR and I. The things here are kinda expensive :(

Later:
Got lost in Taipei Railway Station its not funny the signs were in Chinese and in TRADITIONAL CHINESE and the place is huge seriously like what Vivo City except there's an underground part too plus 4 underground malls connected omg. I think some ppl actually live inside yknow. There are so many random places to hide and sleep.

day 2

One word. Cold. It's not snowing but it is bloody cold I tell you anyway, it rained the whole day, cab brought us to yeliu which I've been to last year and I really do love that place, the sea is a living, breathing creature no doubt about it. But it was raining, then pouring, and plus the wind gosh it was cold so sadly I didn't explore much but we hid at the visitor center :l did I mention, I look like a kid and I paid for a kid's ticket LOL cab brought us to the gold mine museum next and it was in the mountains and there was fog and all really breathtaking but cold but it was refreshing too. The museum was fine, not too impressive touched a gigantic gold bar (waddup) and went into some tunnel. The miners really had it rough, and it reminds me of the coal mine in Taiwan last year. Anyway we were eating buns and SUDDENLY CRISIS THIS STRAY DOG WAS STALKING US AND CORNERING US FOR FOOD OMG IT WAS LIKE A WOLF AND WE WERE LIKE HELPLESS PPL I KID YOU NOT THE DOG WAS HUGE we escaped eventually of course then we went to jiufen. Quite cool and interesting hm bought smth for ky and my dad saw his colleague there LOLOL SO FUNNY ate smth like red bean soup? And Tim bought an ocarina. Thennnn when back to Taipei and thank God it wasn't as windy anymore and went to Q square for dinner. The food court is super cool they have like beepers to tell you when to collect your food. The clothes there were super ex, walked along those shops outside the mall and bought a panda hoodie for myself which I'm currently wearing to prevent myself from dying in the hotel room which is ironically colder than the outside. Come to think of it I'm wearing panda skin LOL okaye if the weather is good will be heading to zoo cya guys imma survivor for living through 14 degrees of wind/rain in the mountains with just a pullover and jacket ps no shirt beneath my pullover k HAHA LOL NIGHTS
